Design Theory: STRIPE

Assessed project as part of a Design Theory module taught by Professor Michael Hann. The brief was to create a five strong collection of black and white stripe patterns for a specific product market.  I was initially inspired by the work of  tattooist Chaim Machlev and illustrator Carl Krull, both whom use repeated slim line as the main structure of their work.     However my main task was to create a pattern for product, I decided on a a tile collection as the user is then involved in the creation of the end pattern, as much, if not more than the designer.  The interchangeable tile designs create the impression of an organic line structure across what is traditionally a structured geometric shape.
